DIY Nixie Tube Clock

If you’re a fan of things retro and an electronics do-it-youselfer, this might might be just the thing for you – it’s a kit that lets you built your own clock, that displays the time using wonderfully outdated nixie tubes.
First of all, what are nixie tubes? They were once commonly used for electronic displays, and consist of a gas-filled glass tube, inside of which are nestled ten cathodes, each one formed into a different numeral from 0 to 9. Those cathodes are stacked one on top of the other, any one of which can be made to glow orange when voltage is applied to it. If the selected number is at the bottom of the stack, you can actually see it shining through its unlit bunkmates.
ThinkGeek’s DIY Nixie Tube Desk Clock is a kit that includes all the parts necessary for you to build a nixie tube clock of your own, including vintage unused tubes. It even includes a nice modern microprocessor, in a nod to the whole old-meets-new thing. The kit does require the user to do some soldering, however, plus some basic knowledge of electronics would also likely come in handy.

For people who like the aesthetic but would prefer not to do-it-themselves, ready-made nixie tube clocks are available as oddities from various sources.

January 13, 2006 Now here’s a good idea from Sony that doesn’t quite fit with the company’s normal fare. Sony will release a VOIP telephone crossed with a mouse onto the Japanese market next month. Dubbed MouseTalk, it looks and acts like a normal scroll wheel mouse, but when a call comes in on Skype, the mouse flashes its LED lights and emits a customisable sound. The mouse opens like a clamshell phone, becoming a Skype handset and it can also be used in hands-free mode. When used as a telephone, the mouse scroll-wheel adjusts the volume and clicking the wheel can mute the microphone.

Twig is a rather innovative charging cable for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch that looks to solve your cable clutter problem.  We all use the Apple supplied cable for charging and syncing our devices and the length of it probably means that it gets tangled up in your bag and it all becomes a bit messy. The Twig looks to solve that problem as well as offering a few extra features too.
The Twig is only 4 inches long and has a strong bendable wire skeleton with three legs; this enables it to be bent into shapes like a tripod. You can bend Twig to make an instant wall charger dock, FaceTime tripod or use it for a self-timed photograph; it really is a clever little invention.The video showing how the Twig was developed is especially interesting when you see where the inspiration came from.
The Twig has been developed by Jason Hilbourne who is the founder of 3D Product, a company based in Portland, Oregon. If you want to get an early piece of the action, you can get your hands on one when / if they are released from as little as $18. For the Twig to become a reality however pledges need to reach over $50,000; it currently stands at $22,000 but still has 28 days to go

Majlis Pelupusan/penyembelihan Lembu BESTRAC

Pad 17 ogos 2012 Berlangsung majlis Penyembelihan Lembu Kelab BESTRAC besut.Ramai Ahli-ahli BESTRAC hadir memeriahkan majlis.3 ekor lembu telah dikorbankan.(sepatutnya 4 ekor tp sekor dah lari..hehehheheh)

Eyeball Colek Kelab Putra Pasir Puteh

Pada 17 Ogos lalu telah berlangsung satu eyeball 'colek' Radio Amatur Pasir Puteh(Putra).Majlis belangsung selepas solat tarawih di saltmine kedua 9W2JCD di pasir Puteh.Alhamdulillah kehadiran rakan-rakan amatur  dan SRS dari Pasir Puteh,Kota Bharu,Machang,Jeli,G.Musang,Pulai Chondong,T.Merah,Tumpat,Bachok dan lain-lain.Majlis secara rasminya bermula lebih kurang pada jam 10 malam dan berakhir lebih kurang dalam jam 1.00 pagi...saya kongsikan saat-saat majlis eyeball ini berlangsung
